Animation layers with Unity 2D mecanim
Is it possible to use animation layers for Unity 2D sprite-based animations?
I have a 2D character that is made up of sprites that are animated inside of Unity (rotation translate etc).
I was wondering if I could add a separate animation layer that animates just the face of the character, so I can independently animate his face regardless of the pose he is in (i.e. idle happy, idle sad, running happy, running sad)
I haven't used layers before but it seems to expect an avatar that I don't have.
Hi! Did you check out Animation Layers? http://docs.unity3d.com/$$anonymous$$anual/AnimationLayers.html
Another user was trying to do something similar, there are some suggestions posted in the thread: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/2d-sprite-with-multiple-body-parts.224146/
Lord, why is this so complicated? This should be easy. I am in the same boat. I am simply trying to superimpose an animation upon another (all sprites). When using layers, even set to additive, I get a boolean effect in which either one or the other appear, regardless of weighting or layer order...
