What's the most practical way to show particles on a "Screen Space - Overlay" Canvas with the new GUI (uGUI, Unity 4.6+)?

I did quite a few searches but answers may have changed in the meantime.
I've got a Screen Space - Overlay Canvas already setup and with elements, using the new 4.6 Unity GUI system (uGUI). I'm using Unity 4.6.3f1 Pro.
I'd like to show a simple particle system on an anchored point in space in the GUI.
What's the most practical (less math) way to do this?
Just in case, what's the math to show a certain Particle System at a specific position in that UI?
