Can I import my 4.5 Unity projects to 4.6?
I am just wondering if anyone can say that I can import 4.5 projects safely to 4.6? If not I will download it wen I finish my 2D game. EDIT: I think I lost Unity forever... help needed ASAP!!!
Ultimately it is up to you and the inevitable outcome of switching will depend upon how you have made your project(there have been some big UI changes which may cause issues if you do switch)... The only way to find out for sure is to try it and see.

Save your project on an external device or at least a different location (preferably external). Then open the normal project not the saved location. Also save the setup executable of your current version of unity (assuming you still have it).
After that close it down and upgrade, chances are it'll work OK but ultimately if want to use the new features then you're going to have to upgrade.
If you don't want the new features then the choice is easy, don't upgrade.
Ok... It's now just crashing Unity and I can't use Unity ever again... no way how to fix. Please help or I will give up on unity.
There were no breaking changes in Unity 4.6. So any project built in 4.5 should open and work fine in 4.6.
As to your crash its probably related to something else. Try download a fresh installer, uninstall Unity, and reinstall.
$$anonymous$$mmpies I think you made my Unity mess up so badly it RIUNED UNITY FOREVER ON $$anonymous$$Y CO$$anonymous$$PUTER!!! That means I might have to move to a new free program... very sad. :'(
