iOS compile: XCode throws "Exit Code 1"

So a few months back I tested to see if I could publish something to the iPad and after four or five tries finally found the settings needed to get it running smoothly (this involves three computers: one to code, one to turn it into XCode, and one to finally turn that XCode into an ipa, as the second machine isn't up to date on it's XCode version, which needs a newer OSX).

Anyway, larger project, wanted to make sure that it'd run smoothly on the iPad before it gets developed too far, so that optimizations can be made if necessary.

Compile fails in the last step with an "Exit Code 1" and no explanation. No amount of googling brings me any closer to fixing the problem. So I look back at the older project that was used as a test, copy all of the settings over (SDK version, target iOS version, etc. etc). No dice

Compile up the test project. Success.

Fine, I say, I export all of the new project's assets and import them into the old project. Things come through just fine, just some missing textures; good enough for a test.

Exit Code 1.

So clearly there's something inside the project itself which is causing the error, not the settings, the ipad, the three machines involved, developer key, or the developer certificate.

Is the app installed during this compilation? I mean, is there an icon for it in the springboard or the project does not build at all?

Never gets that far. Hit "run" and it throws the error.

Post the build log (use pastebin), maybe you are missing something.

I'll have to do it on $$anonymous$$onday. It's for a work project and I don't have a $$anonymous$$ac at home.

No prob, i'll keep track of this thread, many times my compilations where stopped by a ret -1, maybe thats why I hate XCode.

OH SHIT DUDE. I did have a script file with a number at the front, "2DGUI". Which I wasn't actively using yet, though it was in the scene (the code itself is basically noop).

Compiling now.

Anyway, I agree with the guy at the end of that thread: "Unity should bitch about it" before it gets to XCode.
