is unity "free" really free?
Hello I wanted to install unity free version but I was wondering if you need to pay a yearly service fee or something along those lines because I just wanted to try it out and mess around with it but if I need to pay than no thanks but if I don't need to pay any thing then please tell me that thanks in advance

Yes it's really free. And yes, you can use the free version to make games that you then sell on the Apple iTunes Store, Google Play etc. And it's still free. Until your company earns $100,000 per year, in fact, it's free.
you can use the free version then after you get more experienced try the trial.
I'd recommend quite the opposite: Start with the free version and thoroughly learn everything it has to offer (quite a lot!). Only after that take out the Pro trial if you want to try out features such as image effects, rendertextures, softshadows, and off-mesh navmeshes.
Yep I agree with tanoshimi you can start with free and use it for a while then try the trial and want too do more get pro it's worth it once you understand everything.
As indicated most of the pro features are just that, designed for professional. There is nothing in there you need to make a game, but a few things that make life better.
Chances are you will spend the first 30 days figuring out how the basic features work. So don't do a trial on pro until you are convinced you know what you are doing and you want to buy pro. That is the point of a trial after all.
