Messed up script
This is really confusing. So I have a difficulty settings manager script that was working perfectly fine until literally three minutes ago. I created a new c# script and Unity told me the difficulty manager had a parsing error. So I open up the script and instead of everything I wrote, this is what I find:
?;)??????g|/1Pc????[??S?t_??S?????D???I?k<?Z?J?d??
m'aLsQ?$?????SU?`?????i;? ???$??<?r?.5JD?F?^???
???W?l??d???????:?#??ua+326?[VvV???r??????_????=X??n8?! ,??????????B??]???gRu??%<`?????q?J?????????????QW?.????????V5?~??m?h:????????R??x?
????
I need to have this game done and I have no clue what happened to this script. Like I said, it worked perfectly fine until I added a c# script about a minute ago.
Are you sure you didn't change any settings in unity ? Are your other scripts and unity projects working fine ? What c# script did you write ?
Assu$$anonymous$$g that you didn't sneeze on the keyboard moments before saving the file, this looks like it must be an encoding/serialisation issue - have you changed any settings like that anywhere? What app did you use to open up the script - $$anonymous$$onoDevelop?
Good thing you've been using version control and making regular backups.

Good opportunity to learn how to use version control and make regular backups.
(Actually I've had some luck in just closing everything down and reopening. Don't hit save at any point in this process.)
