How to save a single object

Question

I am new to unity and I need to know how to save a object and it has to be a __.unity3D file (I am modding a game) Just for extra info I am using blender to create my objects and I'm on a mac :)

Single objects can be exported as asset bundles. There is pretty complete documentation on that.
