Network - Editor + Builds = Problem with RayCasts?
Hello,
I was having a problem with my networked game. The player can fire a pistol in the scene, which is basically just a raycast, all clients can see this.
But sometimes, when I shoot at clients, the raycast ignores the collider (CharacterController) and goes 'throw' them. I seemed to be random though, for example:
If I hosted on my laptop, then ran a build (client a) and the editor (client b) on my other computer, the host (laptop) could shoot at the build (client a) , but not the editor (client b)... Or my editor (client b) couldn't shoot at either host or client a.
I couldn't figure out the pattern here, but it seems like its the editor messing up. As a test, I ran 2 builds on my computer, and 2 builds on my laptop, and they all worked fine, all clients and hosts could shoot at each other.
So is something messing up with the editor? - Version 3.5.5 f5
