Sound responsive game mechanic
I was wondering if it was position to turn the overall sound output of a scene into variables. So for example, use the volume of a song at different point to change a certain variable, or use the amount of bass at certain parts. I was thinking this may be possible by doing something fancy with the audio listener but I have yet to figure it out.

Sure - you can use audio.GetSpectrumData. Here's an example: http://www.41post.com/4776/programming/unity-making-a-simple-audio-visualization
