Question by Shaftz · Nov 26, 2012 at 10:46 PM ·

Please help, trivia scripting

Hello, I am currently creating a game that requires a question be answered to collect an object, there are four objects on level 1, i have a collection script allready so my character collects the objects and a score shows up in the top left hand corner of the screen. The point of the game is to answer a question to be allowed to pick up an object, so i was thinking creating a collider around the object, fairly bigger then the object, then creating a script to attach to the collider to destroy it if the question is answered correctly, I've tried many times to create the script on my own and i have come with nothing, The most optimal answer to this question would someone please write a script for me ( i know this is looked down upon but im at a loss) that destroys a collider upon question answer, i want the game to be paused as well when hitting the collider. Any feedback would be appreciated, thank you very much!

@shaftz, I truly urge you to ask your question on the forum.unity site.

really this site is only for SPECIFIC TECHNICAL QUESTIONS like "how many bytes is the third static register in texture meshes?"

someone will probably delete your question here in time

again rush to the FORU$$anonymous$$ for general chat

also read unityGE$$anonymous$$S.com for basic tutorials which will get you going

Hello dave, please explain how this is supposed to help my trivia script.

First link: You can set myColliderComponent.enabled to false to disable a certain collider (no need to destroy it).

Second link: You can set Time.timeScale to 0 to stop all time based computations (physics, character movements, ...), effectively pausing your game.
