Question by MasterLetch · Feb 23, 2013 at 06:40 AM · animationanimationcurve

Modifying an entire animation with a single animation curve?

so I'm not 100% sure how to do this but I need to know if it is possible to modify all the containing curves in an animation all at once using an animation curve (one can be in the editor) to create animations that go backwards and forwards many different ways. it seems like all the lengths and sizes that i could use are read only (eg. clip length is read only therefor can't be directly modified with a curve).

I have to do this from script so i was curious to know to pull this off.

Consider -- PUT THE WHOLE OBJECT, INSIDE ANOTHER OBJECT. And animate that wrapper.

I use wrappers so often in Unity I've started calling it Wrapper3D :)

I don't need anything quite so grand, actually all i really need is the variable (whether it be a float range or an int depicting frames) that can be changed to effects how an animation plays a clip. I'm very good with editor scripting so thats not a problem... i just can't find the variable to save my life.

actually it looks like unity does not allow you to get an actual "position" in the animation, so you can't actually effect it by a curve...
