Question on Physic Materials, Rigibodies, and Acelleration
I have been trying to find a way to allow a rigidbody character object to accelerate up steep inclines (through physic materials like Unity's Ice setting), but doing so removes almost all of the control a player has over the character due to the player being unable to stop moving, and changing Dynamic friction so that the player can stop removes the ability to accelerate up those steep inclines.
So, is there a way to have the best of both worlds so to speak? To be able to accelerate up steep inclines but maintain control when the player tries to stop?
I've thought about changing the physic material on the ground based on if the player is trying to move forward, but what if the player is moving forward and trying to turn? It ends up being the same problem. If anyone has a idea or suggestion, I would love to hear it.
