Unity 5.3.1 build doesn't run on my Linux (Ubuntu opengl 3) distro - how to fix?
I'm trying to run the Unity 5.3.1 build of Energy Hook on my Linux distribution. The 5.1 build worked fine, but this one doesn't. Checking the log files this seems to be the culprit:
PlayerInitEngineGraphics: GPU not supported; OpenGL 3.2 is required. Your GPU (Mesa DRI Intel(R) Haswell Dsektop x86/MMX/SSE2) or OpenGL drivers only supports OpenGL 3.0
Looking through Unity release notes I see that they've upgraded to a new OpenGL core, but claim that we can manually set it back to what it previously was - But I can't see how to do that? How do I do that?
This is extra frustrating because I assume I'm not the only one who's going to have this problem. A lot of Steam Machines have the same specs as my box, as I understand it.
Unity for linux is in an experimental state as far i know, try the forums http://forum.unity3d.com/forums/linux-editor-support-feedback-experimental.93/ maybe they can help you out

The latest 5.3.1 patch release (not there yet for the Linux editor) fixes this issues. Meanwhile try starting it with the "-force-opengl" flag.
I am getting a similar error on ubuntu:
PlayerInitEngineGraphics: GPU not supported; OpenGL 2.0 is required. Your GPU (A$$anonymous$$D Radeon R9 $$anonymous$$370X OpenGL Engine) or OpenGL drivers only supports OpenGL 1.4
I used the -force-opengl but it did not help. I am using Unity 5.3.
