I can't see my imported texture (Blender).
So I decided to take my proof of concept game and start fleshing it out with some free 3d models that I've found laying around the web simply to see if it looks right or not before I start learning how to use blender. I imported an obj into Blender, saved it as a .blend file added it into my assests folder along with the appropriate texture and material folders that came with the model. When I put an empty object into the world and then drop the asset ontop of it I can see it quite clearly inside the preview window, however when I hit the play button to see what it looks like in the camera it doesn't show up. However when I look at my "game" preview window I can see the object, move it and manipulate it and do all that jazz but when I go to play it disappears.
I am obviously missing something I am just not sure what I am missing, is anyone able to help me at all?
So you insert an empty gameobject and then insert the model as a child of this object? ...and when you click play it isn't there? When I insert a blender model I just drag it in the scene and then when I really need it I parent it.
Just to clarify I have tried both and I can get it to appear if I change the orthographic size of my camera to something stupidly massive. I've tried scaling the object to tiny proportions (about 0.0001) but the camera still seems to render it at a large scale even though it appears small in the preview window. I think the reason I wasn't seeing it in my game as it was literally outside the extents of my camera. Atleast I think this could be a possible cause. Is there any way to shrink the item down in Blender at all? I don't want to learn two programs at once so I haven't done a lot of searching for Blender as most of my time has been spent inside unity.
Aside from a scaling issue if I have no idea what it could be.

Most likely you imported the default animation from blender and it keeps playing when you start your game.
This happened to me a few times before I realized what was going on. Basically the default animation is set to play on "awake" and will move your model to the center of your world.
(example of default animation import from blender) http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg515/scaled.php?server=515&filename=78506651.png&res=landing
to fix this simply uncheck the "play automatically" or skip the import of animations.
I am not allowed to up vote this for some reason it would be nice if someone else could. Funnily enough last night I noticed that animation pane and thought it was odd that a static object had an animation. I removed the component and what do you know it's sitting exactly where I left it.
Thankyou very much :D
