Stats Window shows Render Textures in Unity Free
I have a project running in Unity Free.
It goes without saying, Render Textures are not allowed and hence have not been used.
Why does my stats window show Render Textures?
It's not bugging me particularly, but I noticed it a while ago. I thought I'd run into the answer given some patience but have not done so.

RenderTextures are used in Unity's own editor interface, so you're probably seeing usage due to things the inspector is showing.
Ok that makes sense. Can you give an example? I notice it happens in some projects but not others.
Unity itself is free to use RenderTextures internally. with a free-license you as user just don't have access to it. $$anonymous$$eep in $$anonymous$$d that Unity free and pro is actually the same Unity, free just comes with restrictions.
Aye I get that.
I suppose, to me, it makes little sense to show something in my stats that is internal and probably inconsequential.
If I were to use RenderTextures with Pro, this might mess with my brain :P
Anyway, thanks for the information.
This much I might have guessed, but what I don't understand is that the number of RenderTextures I see in my project is 14 - more than twice the number of Draw calls. What could it possibly do with so many RenderTextures?
Perhaps you have more scene or game windows open, or something to that effect.
