unable to read auto complete

Recently when I have been using monodevelope the auto complete box opens, however it is shrunk in height to roughly 1/10th of normal. If there are a large number of options to select from, the words are obviously overlapping on themselves making it impossible to tell what item is selected or even what should be selected. I have tried reinstalling and downloading a new install, as well as looking through settings for anything that may influence the auto complete in any way but have found nothing.
