Networking question
I have the very basics of my First person shooter games but i want to get multiplayer implemented so my freinds can play with me as i update the game, i have a few questions to ask
What is better to use unity networking or photon
Do i need to portfoward because i have a virgin media superhub and ive tried portfowarding for other games but im pretty sure virgin doesnt allow it
"Better" is subjective. What, in your opinion, makes one solution better than another? (What is better, a Fiat 500, or a Ferrari? Well, depends if better means fast, or fuel efficient.)
If you believe them, and you want a simple solution, use Photon. Unity doesn't provide any servers. Unity networking relies on one of the game clients acting as a server, and so is suited to small numbers of players, perhaps up to 32, depending on how much data you are sharing across the players. Photon uses a dedicated server. The two solutions are not directly comparable.

You will definitely need port forwarding unless your computer is directly connected to the internet. Here is the guide for your specific router
