Is the current basic water bugged?
Hey,
is anyone else having problems with the basic water lately? When you create a new project, import the basic water and create an instance of it, it will only appear completely blue and a bit flashing. I didn't have this problem with earlier versions.
I don't think anything has changed in the water asset. What version do you think it stopped working in?
I have the same problem but I'm new. Import the pro water package and either use the prefab or swap your script to Water, shader to FX/Water and select a couple of textures and you'll see what simple water should be like out of the box.
Thank you, it helped me a lot!
Sorry for refreshing topic but I have important question - can I use Water Pro prefab when I have just Unity Free? I'm asking for the law/licence. Of course I can use it in the editor but what if I need to do official project or commercial game? Idn - can I use that trick or I need to do it in other way?
There is no trick. You can't use Water Pro in Unity Free because it requires features that are only available with a Pro licence (render textures). You can import Water Pro into Unity Free, sure, but all the "Pro-ness" about it will be disabled anyway.
