Cant Save Scene, Import assets, Open Scene or anything that needs file manager window!

I just updated my Unity from the 2.X version and I am having problems. I cant save anything pressing save or save as does not open a dialogue box, the same problem occurs when trying to import assets or custome package the dialoge window will not open and nothing happens. same when I click open scene.

Also isn't the interface meant to be darker now? it changed around but its the same colour as before, in the screen grabs on the website the interface looks almost black but mine is the same colour as before?

Windows 7 64bit, Intel, Nvidia, loads of power!
