Question by MithosAnnar · Mar 24, 2012 at 10:25 AM · javascriptguitexturewidthpixelinset

How do I adjust a GUITextures width, from the left?

So I have been googling everywhere, and have found nothing.

My problem is that when I attack my enemy, its health bar is shrinking from right to left.

The reason, I think is this:

Width Right-most pixel position of the texture.

I want it's width to go from the left to right, because of its position on screen.

Is there no way of doing this?

Thanks in advance.

Fixed, Thanks to Aldo Naletto!

health.js:

pragma strict

var health : float = 168;

var maxWidth : float = 168;

function Update () {

guiTexture.pixelInset.width = - maxWidth * health / 100;

}

P.S: The following happens with transparent textures.

It moves ever so slightly to the right. The effect is exaggerated and more noticeable the faster the enemies health decreases.

Reducing pixelInset.width makes the texture to shrink from right to left, as you said. To make it shrink from left to right, use a negative pixelInset.width - but remember that in this case pixelInset.x will set the right corner, instead of the left:

   guiTexture.pixelInset.width = -maxWidth*health/100;

O$$anonymous$$,

its sort of working. But when I decrease the health, the texture moves ever so slightly to the right.

How do I stop that?

In my tests, the texture didn't move - but it can seem to move if it has a transparent margin. Download and import this texture: http://www.draldo.com.br/data/textureBlue2.PNG - it's a simple 128x128 blue texture, without any transparent parts, and worked fine in my tests.
