WP8: "Streaming of 'mp3' on this platform is not supported"
As the title says--I'm hitting this error trying to load an MP3 out of the StreamingAssets folder. Every piece of documentation on the Unity website says that MP3s are supported on mobile platforms. Is Windows Phone an exception? I'm running Unity Pro, so it shouldn't be a licensing issue.

MP3 streaming is supported on Android, iOS, BB10 and Tizen only.
Hi Graham - thanks for the information. Could you please point me to any docs that state this (if they exist)? Any idea what Unity is doing behind the scenes to play $$anonymous$$P3s?
(Sorry, multiple comments asking the same thing - can't seem to delete, but I can edit to not be redundant...)
I just looked at the source code to see what condition generates the message. Not sure that this is documented anywhere. I suspect the non-support for strea$$anonymous$$g is more to do with the interaction between the WWW class and the audio decoding on the device.
How are you guys doing $$anonymous$$P3 decoding behind the scenes for AudioClip/AudioSource--do you use F$$anonymous$$OD? I'm running into probably the same issue that the WWW class has that the $$anonymous$$P3 codec on WinPhone seems to be inaccessible (even though the device can clearly play $$anonymous$$P3s).
Will see if I can get one of the audio guys into this thread.

I maid an Asset play mp3 files, it works on Win, Max, Linux, iOS, android...
It works for local files and web streams.
I have not tested windows phone but I am completely inside unity so it should be good.
