Object turns grey after applying material
Hi There.
I have imported an object from Blender (simple workbench) as a .blend file. It has been uv unwrapped and the such. I have created a simple wood material in unity that I have then applied to the object. The object then just turns a dark grey and there is no sign of the wood. But when I apply it to a built-in unity object, it works perfectly fine.
If someone could give me a hand with my problem, that would be great.
Cheers, Bradley.
It is in the editor, i have one directional light in the scene and I am using a bumped diffuse shader. If you like I could post a screenshot.

Try changing the texture in the material -- grass, wood ... . My guess is you'll see the color change, but will still be all one shade. And you'll notice that it's always the color of the lower-left pixel (or upper left?)
The unwrap probably fell off during the export, or was never applied ... and is now just all 00's in Unity.
If you know how, you can use the Mesh class to print uvs, to check.
Ok, thanks for your help, I will try out these ideas.

Basically, you are interested in unwrapping. Here are some links to help you fix it: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Textures/Mapping/UV/Unwrapping

If you do not want to deal with this problem every time you want to import simple objects like boxes and stuff, then you should consider switching over to Maya or 3DS Max.
Here is a list of free 3d modeling software as well (just in case you want to try something else): http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/25-free-3d-modelling-applications-you-should-not-miss/
