Fur Shader alternative for Mobile
The Fur Shader from the community wiki does not work for mobile (OpenGL ES 2.0).
What would be an alternative to create a furry carpet (even with quality lost)?
Give UT as much money as they need to document how to duplicate the functionality of surface shaders in GLSL, and I'll write it for you.
i think andee was apointed to documentation recently , you should talk to him about that and he could probably make it happen

See Q&A here: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/26588/unity3-shader-somethings-changed.html
Follow link to forum, scroll down to find link to shader. Is this the same one you're trying? I think the one in the wiki was never updated?
That's the shader that I've tried. It works fine for web or pc, but not for mobile.
By George, you're right. I know I had it working like on Xoom or something a while back, but this version is not furry at all. Answer withdrawn.
