Display readable ingame notes

Hey,

I would like to display notes ingame for the player to read. An example would be this: https://d262ilb51hltx0.cloudfront.net/max/600/1*hqQQ8xcFmIncJQqdZefO6A.png (randomly found on google/images).

What would the best approach be?

I could be preparing each individual note (with the text) in photoshop, then just drop the textures ingame. Or should I rather drop the empty texture(s) ingame, then attach the text through unity?

With the first solution I feel like I'd get the best possible outcome, since I can apply effects, if needed, within photoshop. However I would lose some of the flexibility I guess. Any input on this?

Thanks!

Well I would highly suggest that you design the background texture (paper) with photoshop for example and then add the text on top of it with the font you like imported into unity (and loaded in a UI.Text).

This is the most "saving time" AND flexible solution I$$anonymous$$O (for example if you want to change a sentence or translate the whole text to another language).

It also depends on how familiar you are with unity but the UI.Text element is very simple to handle.

Edit: it also depends on the number of notes (or similar objects) you have to make in your game obviously ><

I didn't really think of translations, excellent point! Those would make premade notes a pain in the ass (and bloat the final game size).

I think I'll go with the second approach then, thanks for your input!
