Question is outdated as the old network system (Raknet) is no longer in use for years
Unity Master Server Up/Down Status
Does Unity
have a page anywhere that displays if the Master Server
is up or down? Also, possibly explains if it is down for routine maintenance or there is a problem that is being sorted out?
Every once in a while people are unable to connect, spend lots of time trying to debug their program, and come to the conclusion that the Master Server
is down after seeing people ask if it's down in forums - they usually find out that it is down from other people saying that they are having the same problem. And then they just hope that it will only be a couple of days.
If something like this doesn't exist it would be extremely beneficial to the Unity Community
for a status page to be added or even just simply added to the Master Server Page. This would save people time and would stop posts from clogging up the forums.
If something like this already exists please point me to it. Thanks!
The Unity $$anonymous$$aster-Server is for convenience only. It's an un-watched server, and often it's posts like yours that tells Unity people there is a problem. If during your development you are critically dependent on a master server, then you may want to host your own, so you can manage it's availability.
I'm not familiar with the workings of the $$anonymous$$aster Server; is it possible to use a site like IsItDown to check its status?
@GrahamDunnett - The status page would also be for convenience only, that was the whole point. Thanks for the info though.
@meat5000 That's a good idea, however I think the $$anonymous$$aster Server can use multiple IP addresses so not sure how effective it would be.

Unity has a status page for all of their current online services which can be found here:
:) Your answer is kind of off topic as this question was about the old Networking system. As Graham said above the default $$anonymous$$asterserver that is hosted by Unity is only ment for development / testing. Any serious project should host their own $$anonymous$$asterserver.
Some said that Unity has shut down the $$anonymous$$asterServer for good, but it seems it's still working. I once created a NetworkExample project with the old Network system (RakNet) which still works. Though it's a webplayer build. WebGL doesn't support RakNet
That status page is so terribly delayed. I have no idea what the thresholds are set too but they are far too high. On numerous occasions I have seen issues 30 $$anonymous$$utes before that page is even updated with a status change.
