How to import skeleton and blendshape animation from maya?
I have a maya character with rig animation and also blendshape animation. When I export fbx of the whole character with everything, I can only see skeletal animation inside unity with no blend shape animation. The blendshapes themselves are imported correctly, but with no key frame animation from maya. If I deleted the skeleton from maya and exported the fbx, I get working blendshapes animation. How to get both inside of unity? I tried to use different versions including fbx version 2011 but with no luck.
Thanks for advance.
There are options in the FBX exporter for exporting blendshapes morphs - have you tried these?
If so it could be worth submitting a simple scene with your rigged / blendshape animated FBX from Inside Unity > Help > Report a bug. You can add the ref number here

Hi further to this you could try our tutorial which runs through all the steps:

Actually I tried this tutorial before, but I will check again thank you. For now I did a work around of copying the keys for blendshapes to dummy bones translate.x channel before exporting. Then inside of unity I wrote a small code that takes the translate.x of dummy bones and copy it to the blendshapes, and it worked. However it is inconvenient workaround.
