Do blendshape and bones work together in Maya?
I have searched the forums and found similar questions, but no answers.
When exporting out of Maya 2014, a head with blendshapes (facial expressions) and bones (neck, head movement) doesn't work. If I remove the skin bind and export, the blendshapes work.
Grateful for any help
I'm using Maya 2014 fbx exportor 2014.0.1 Unity 4.3.1f Pro license
Strange. We tested the same thing and it worked perfectly. A human character with full rig + several full body morhps.
What exactly doesn't work? The animation? the blend-shapes?
We use $$anonymous$$aya 2013 extended, so there may be a small difference, but I'm inclined to believe it's unlikely.

To anyone else struggling with this..... here is what I was told by tech support..... and it worked
Hi Brad - I've been advised that there is an incompatibility with FBX 2012/13/14 exporters regarding BlendSshapes. The developers are working on this in conjunction with Autodesk, for now please use the 2011 option (you can check this in the FBX export dialogue Advanced > File Format > Version > 2011)
FYI Success has been reported with $$anonymous$$ax 2014 (FBX 2014) and the morpher modifier to export blendshapes, so it is believed to be currently an issue with FBX SD$$anonymous$$ and $$anonymous$$aya.
