What is better for a game character?
I'm no pro dev, or artist. I just want to get some more experience for in the future.
I started modeling my main character of the game, but when I was halfway I got stuck on a question what pretty bothers me. What is better, to create the character and the armour out of the same mesh. Or that you later on, after you have created the character. Model the armour and attach them to your character? I don't know which of these 2 option would be better for a hack & slash without beeing able to change items.

If you're not planning on having the armor change, it will be easier to include it as part of the same mesh. If you wanted to have switchable armor, modeling it separately is the way to go.
