Variable height tile path on rotating disc/tube
This is for a 3D Unity project with a fixed camera position.
I need to create a disc/tube like shape that will rotate around the y-axis. I want to be able to subdivide the "disc path" (that is, the top surface of this disc/tube shape) into an arbitrary number of polygonal "tiles" and procedurarly generate variable heights for those tiles.
What's the best approach to this problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I wanted to mention, I'm happy to use any custom game entity, asset from the asset store, etc. to accomplish this.
