Issue with too much Vram occupation
hi guys im making a 3D environment which has 4k*4k textures ,in case of a test i imported my meshes along with 220 MB textures which makes 8 materials . the textures has been exported as 8 bit png files. whenever im in play mode and spectating whole meshes there's nearly 1GB of vram occupied by textures. 1. first issue is when ever i roll the camera to not having any mesh in sight the GPU ram is still 1GB occupied by unity. how should i solve that ? 2. i used mipmapping to reduce the vram occupation. it reduced the volume to 600MB .but after i build the project into an executable app and i did run it ,it was still usin 1GB vram. whats wrong with that ?
