Create a 3D trail renderer like Hawk eye simulation
I'm working on a simulation project that requires to show the trail of a flying ball. I tried to use the unity's trail renderer. But I need the trail to be look something like this [Hawkeye ball path simulation]
do I have create a mesh at runtime to achieve this ?
any help would be appreciated. thank you for your answers in advance.

If you are using Unity pro you could use render to texture and render just the ball in each frame to the texture, then overlay the texture onto the normal frame.
I am using Unity Pro and I'm not sure how to use render to texture and overlay the texture on to the normal frame. Could you explain this in a little bit more detail ? It would be very helpful if you could give some sample coding.
thanks.
