Render texture used as simple sphere map. Possible?
So basically as the title suggest I am trying to use a render texture as a simple sphere map for faked reflections in an AR app.
I am aware of rendertocubemap. But as you might understand that will not work in an AR reality scene, as there really is no "scene". The scene is basically what the camera sees, so it is not possible to render a 360 cubemap.
Any help or workarounds are appreciated.
@bb0x Any luck with this? I'm trying to do the same thing.
Did you at least figure out how to attach a texture to a spheremap at runtime? I can't seem to figure that part out.

I was looking for the exact same thing and found this. Did not try it yet, but it's on my list.
Assign your rendertexture to the _scaledTexture property. If I were you I would drop the resolution of the render texture in order to blur it and avoid having reflections that feel out of place.
There is a also real time screen space reflection that could work without the need of an actual render texture. Several options here, this one is open source and looks good.
