Using Unity Standard Assets

Should I use Unity Standard Assets?

I want to know that generally should I use Unity's Standard Assets package in my project, or make the assets I need myself and only use them in my project?

And, if I only require some of the assets which are in Unity Standard Assets should I make new finished assets myself and use them?

What if I use Unity Standard Assets for my required assets (which I think most users do), will my new game's look and assets will be unique to the players because all other projects also used similar assets?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of both ways of using assets in my projects?

hello.

stndr assets are just this, very basic assets. yo can ise them but your own assets will be always more specyfoc fpr your project. I normally use standard assets as a start, and modify them to get exactly what i need

Well, I think I get it. In this workflow, to start on a new project with, use the pre-existing assets from the standards assets package and modify them to fit the needs and the specifications of the project.

So, according to it, if I have a third person main player character then I would use the ThirdPersonCharacter assets of the package adding to it the other features I need such as fighting and swim$$anonymous$$g systems.

P.S. Can you please elaborate your answer to advantages of this workflow?
