Prevent blaster shots from adding force to rigidbodies they collide with
My player is shooting laser shots (like star wars blasters for example) and they have a finite speed, so I don't think I can use raycasts for this as they are not instantaneous like bullets. I have made them rigidbody triggers, and when they collide with another rigidbody they apply damage, then I destroy the gameobject. But they still apply physics forces to what they hit resulting in the object that is hit going flying and I'd like to prevent this from happening. In fact I'd like to prevent any physics forces from being applied by these blasts at all. Can I use raycasts or is there a way to make the blasts rigidbodies without applying physics? Thanks :)

Try turning on "Is Kinematic" on your Rigid Body Component. :)
