Can a skeleton of bones be created within Unity and animated with Mecanim?
A standard use of Mecanim is applying the same animation to two different-shaped characters with the same bone structure. However, is it possible to dynamically generate a new bone structure within Unity, and use Mecanim to apply an animation to it? As in, assign the position, size, rotation, and parent of each bone within Unity, and animate that?
