Question by BCGray00 · May 11, 2014 at 02:00 PM · rigidbodyaudiosoundboxplayoneshot

Sound distorted on impact.

Hi I am playing a sound on collision however it is distorted. I do not know if it is the rigidbody2d, box collider2d or something else. Any help would be great thanks.

What is the nature of the distortion? Is it the pitch/playback speed that is incorrect, or are you hearing click/pops, or has the audio for example become noisy?

What kind of format is the audio file that you are trying to play?

it is a compressed audio file. the audio is loud and sounds like there is a lot of reverb

I believe Audio Source components have a Doppler property. The Doppler effect is the way a sound is higher or lower in pitch according to how fast it's moving towards or away from the listener. You'd want to set the value to 0.

Yes I saw that however it is a 2d sound and doesn't seem to make a difference

The Rigidbody will not affect the way the audio sounds. Are you 100% sure its a 2D sound? Are you sure it doesn't sound like that anyway? (listen to the source audio file raw).

Also - do you have any effects on the same GameObject that might be causing this?
