Put Scripts on terrain trees?

Question

Hello, is there any way to add scripts to trees placed on terrain? It seems that it doesn't work if the tree prefab just has it. Any help?

I'm all for the OP reading all the options, and yes I do have that linked after I saw an earlier post by @alucardj commenting on it, it's a neat idea too.

Of course I have @alucardj wonderful post about other terrain Tree methods too.
