Can I use Particle animation to generate Amoebiod Motion
I admit to being a complete newbie and much more conformable with C# code than with other unity code. We are developing a game to teach basic concepts in biology. One early aspect if a cell that moves like an amoeba and deals with 'enemies', bacteria by surrounding and engulfing them. I an wondering if a particle system might be appropriate for a creature like this - assuming 1) Particles live forever 2) Particles attract each other giving the system cohesion 3) Mouse or finger gestures can give some particles a velocity which dies over time in effect extending a pseudopod.
Is this possible? Is it even the correct approach? what would code doing this look like?
As a design/discussion question, the Unity Forums is a better place for this question. Unity Answers is designed for answering single, specific technical questions. Sounds like an interesting project. Good luck.
