Question by Xyexs · Jul 22, 2014 at 11:27 AM ·

Making sprites

Until now i've just been painting sprites/spritesheets in paint.net but i realised there may be some better software to do this with (mainly pixelart).

I did google for a while and not find a good answer. Is there by any chance anything built in with unity? What do you guys use?

No there is no such thing buildin Unity, you could make your sprites easily in "paint", photoshop, gimp or even krita. Just zoom in like 1000% and set any brush you like to use to 1px.

edit :: I recommand using gimp and zoom in to 2000% and then use a normal pencil to make your art

Alright, but there is no software that makes spritesheet animations and stuff like that? That shows how the animation looks?

Would be alot easier than exporting and testing how it looks in unity.

If you want to make an animation from it you can drag all the sprites you want directly into the scene, it will ask you if you want to make an animation.
