Permanent texture replacing
Which is good way to change texture for object permanently?
It is for retina display of IOS devices:
user download small bundle with low-quality sprites
application detect retina and download new HD atlas
and map new atlas on game objects
But replacing texture via GetComponentsInChildren in every application run is heavy. It is possible to permanent changing mapping on gameObject? Is unity provide good way to do that?
Normally you would have both SD and HD atlasses in the bundle. When the app starts, it deter$$anonymous$$es what device it is running on, then uses the appropriate atlas. Or have 2 apps, one for SD and one for HD.
