Is there a way to have Vuforia and ARCore in the same app?
We are currently developing an app for a student project, that we want to enable to use ARCore and ARKit on Android and iOS respectively and Vuforia as a fallback. After my project partner has already implemented ARKit and Vuforia in two separate scenes I'm now trying to add ARKit.
But when trying to add both to the Android build under Player Settings -> XR Settings , I get the following message:
We would like to be able to allow users to always be able to fall back to Vuforia, but use ARCore on compatible devices. Is there a way to have both in the project at the same time?
I also have this question. Vuforia says that Fusion uses ARCore / ARKit when they are available. But, I've tested Vuforia ground plane vs ARCore, and it's clear that Vuforia is inferior in that regard, at least for now. I'm building an app that has to have ground plane and image recognition. I would like to use ARCore for ground plane and Vuforia for image recognition, but now that Vuforia is integrated into Unity, it's not possible to use both. Has anyone figured out a way around this problem?
Vuforia will already be utilizing ARcore on compatible devices automatically as far as I know.
As of now, still no proper ARCore through Vuforia on supported Galaxy S7, just the inferior ground plane tracking.
Update for 16.6.2018
Vuforia will add support for ARCore as of the next version it will release: 7.2 (by their pace of version release it will propably come out at the beginning of July)
ARCore released a version that supports iOS builds: 1.2
Is there any solution yet? I need some ARCore features in my Vuforia app because ARCore his ImageTarget is really crappy and you cant move the target in ARCore
