Do Bikes and Cars use the same code?
I have had an idea for a game for a while now and I want to put it into action. The only problem is that I have little coding background and I cannot find a tutorial on a bike (like a motorcycle). All the stuff I can find is cars. Can I use a tutorial for a car game and just change the texture and only use 2 wheels? Is there more code that I would need to add on? commitment inst the problem, I just want to make sure.
You don't make games by following tutorials. You learn how to make games by following them. It's never about finding the tutorial about making the game you want, it's about having the knowledge and expertise to make it yourself.
Before you go and make the game you want to make, you should learn how to make it. You probably won't get very far if you only plan to learn only the things necessary to make your game.
Following a tutorial about cars, you can replace and substitute code in for motorcycles (nothing to hard).
You would need to change the texture and the mesh.
@StaticHS There are a lot of physical differences between a car and a bike, especially in 3d. Just replacing and substituting code will probably result in highly volatile bike physics. Some stuff is very similar or identical, other aspects are completely different.
