What is better, huge model or segmented model
Hi, I'm building up some scenery. Currently it's about 150k tris and one material (with one texture).
I am wondering what is better for unity, this level as a whole or some "chunks" say for instance 5 sections of about 30k triangles each (material is the sema, but would need to be applied individually).
Thanks.

The advantage of splitting your level geometry into multiple meshes is that they can be individually loaded and unloaded, and can be the subject of visibility culling.
The disadvantage is an increase in the number of draw calls, but adding four draw calls is not going to cause a significant problem.

What Ben said. If you have Unity Pro you can always launch profiler and see which one squeaks out more performance.
