Android application start before splash
Hi,
I am creating a game with an indie license on Unity 4.3 on Android 4.3 and before I get the "unity splash" there is something that I would like to get rid off:
when the application starts, there is the application title with a black screen and I confirm that I set the "Status bar hidden option"
after a second the status bar get's hidden, but again for another second there is still black screen
1) and 2) take about few seconds and only afterwards I see the "unity splash".
I am fine with unity splash, but I find this two points very unprofessional for a game, can anyone help removing them?
thx
In my experience so far there is no way to have 100% smooth and professional looking load ups for all Android devices. I've wasted a lot of time trying to figure out some solution but it seems something about Unity and Android don't quite mix right for it to look perfect when loading the game up.
Of course it's possible you are doing something wrong since my splash screen seems to display correctly. $$anonymous$$y problem comes when transitioning from the splash screen to the title screen sometimes the title screen get's re-sized for a split second before displaying correctly.
At this point I just have given up it doesn't seem to be quite worth it if it's a $$anonymous$$or problem.
$$anonymous$$y status bar does briefly show as well I think it's just an Android problem that can goof up Unity.
Hopefully someone can help you here but from my experience this kind of thing is more trouble than it's worth on Android.
The splash is fine. I am unhappy about what happens before the splash. As said, it takes about 3 seconds before the user sees the 'unity splash', during this period he sees the title bar on top of a black screen and later just black screen.
First time when I ran it on the device I thought the application crashed, only realizing second time that it was the waiting time, I am a developer, an user will not be so forgiving and patient...
