Should character direction come from key press, or third person controller vector3?
I have a 2D plane, with the default ThirdPersonController script, that I want to render with a texture that will change based on the direction of the character.
I know I could change the texture based on the key currently being pressed (WASD), but it seems to me like it would be more efficient to try to use the direction already being gathered by the ThirdPersonController script to dictate which texture to use. I'm not tremendously versed in scripting, so I'm wondering would it be possible to use the information from ThirdPersonController to get the direction, and if so, does it really matter which of the two methods I use?
