How to cut animation using .max?
Hello. I'm using 3DS Max to make meshes for my projects. Using .fbx allows me to export animation only, so if I save those clips with name like @mymesh.clipname, I will be able to use them as embedded animation. Can I do the same way with .max? Using .fbx is not an option.

Unity converts your Max files into FBX behind the scenes anyway using a headless Max executable, so FBX is kind of the only option. Saying that if you try saving the .Max files into your project using the @naming convention it might work if the version/setup of Max you use is able to save only animation data into the Max file format. Obviously the best way to find out is suck it and see ;-)
