How to use gestures to perform a specific activity in unity using kinect?
Im actually making a photo booth using kinect and unity. I want to use a gesture which kinect can detect for the picture to be taken. I have no idea on this so it will be really nice if u can give me some idea on how it has to be done.
Which $$anonymous$$inect do you have? Have you managed to get $$anonymous$$inect working with Unity?
i have the kinect v2 for windows. and yes, i have managed to connect it with unity using the windows sdk. i jus want to knw how to use the gestures which are detected by kinect in unity to perform some actions.
Like for example, if i hold my hand in a fist, its a gesture of kinect, and pres it forward, thn i want to snap a picture. The purpose of this is that i am making a Photobooth using kinect and Unity.
Take a look to source code of some samples that came with SD$$anonymous$$ Browser. There is at least two of them that recognize the gesture you are looking for: "Body Basics" and "Controls Basics".
Alternatively, if you want to use other gesture, you can do it on your own. The body basics view offers you this joints: https://msdn.microsoft.com/dynimg/IC741371.png. You only need to know how to recognize that gesture. For example, if you want to recognize an extension/flexion of the forearm, you can calculate the angle between elbow and wrist. Then you only need to define that, for example, when that angle is greater than 45º, you snap a picture.
