Build not updating certain scripts?

So when I go to play the game in engine, it's fine. Runs perfectly...no problems.

When I go to create a PC build, one of the last changes I had made through the inspector (swapped out one prefab for another) is not updating.

Basically it wants to keep using the old prefab...not the new one.

So while the in engine build uses the new prefab, the pc build does not. I have saved my scene and project...nothing helps.

Little confused here as to how this could happen?

Have you tried turning it off and on again? Also try, right click and do Reimport.

  • tried restarting unity

  • deleted build folders and exe

  • reassigned the prefab through the inspector

Still same results. Game wants to use old prefab which was deleted on the PC build version, but the in engine build is fine.

Not sure what you mean by "right click and re import"? Do you mean simply re assigning the prefab in question?

In the project folder, within unity, you can right click an asset and hit Reimport. Also in the menu, under Assets, there is a Reimport All assets.

tried re importing all assets...nothings changed. Really curious how the engine build could be different to the PC build. This makes no sense!

Ok, I feel REALLY stupid now. The scene I was working in was called Level01Backup. The scene in the build is Level01.

Sorry to waste your time with a stupid question, Jacob. But thanks for the help!
