Can't login to asset store ONLY in unity editor
I can login to the asset store fine from Chrome and Firefox, but then I try to Open in Unity any of the assets I have purchased and I am unable to login. When I put in my correct login info, it gives me the error message "Incorrect username or password" though I am certain it is correct.
Unity opens as expected, the in-editor Asset Store window opens fine and I can see the page for whatever asset I am trying to open, and the Asset Store Log In pops up. So this is not an internet connectivity or firewall issue. Only the login credentials are not working as expected.
Any ideas?
It might have something to do with an old Unity account (I have 2 unity accounts, one with my personal information and no active licenses, and a newer one with a pro subscription and a bunch of asset store purchases under my company email/info).
The old personal account WILL login correctly from inside Unity editor, but the new one that actually has all my Asset Store purchases/downloads will not. Both accounts work fine in Chrome and Firefox browsers, but only the newer business account will not work in the Unity editor.
I'm having a similar problem. I can login through a browser, but not in the Unity3D editor. The Editor lets me view things in the asset store, but when I go to import them, it doesn't recognize my creds. The message I get is "Failed to login - please retry".
If you've gotten this to work I would really appreciate any info you can share!
$$anonymous$$e too, any help would be appreciated if you have got this work. Thanks! lidayongg@gmail.com

I know this is an old thread, but I just had the exact same problem. Resetting my password did not fix it. I decided to experiment and used my email address where it asks for my username and bingo. Solution is to use your email address, not your username. Well done, Unity...

You might want to send an email to unity. Because I don't think the community knows how to access the account database and fix this. Here is the contact page: http://unity3d.com/contact/get-in-touch
Thanks for trying to help, but just want to mention that I did email Unity support the same day I posted this. Waited too long for replies from either, considering everything worked fine after I reset my own password. Should've just tried that right away.

I believe I just ended up resetting my password myself. It's been a while so I'm not 100% certain that was the entire fix, but if anyone is still struggling with this (as recent comments indicate some may be), go ahead and try resetting even if you're positive you know your password, etc.
I had reset my password, didn't work. Then I reset it again and it did work!
