How to enable AOT for other platforms besides iOS
Hi,
I found the JIT mode may cause some unexpected performance spike when some functions the first time entered. I want to try AOT on Android but didn't find a way to do this. Does anybody know how to force enable AOT mode for the platforms besides iOS?
so is there any way to prewarm the functions to prevent jit overhead? the RuntimeHelper.Prepare$$anonymous$$othed seems not to be implemented on mono.
hello there... it seems this is related to my question: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/757357/how-to-compile-function-to-prevent-jit-spikes.html

You can't compile the functions in an AOT fashion, but you can compile them at a given moment (e.g. startup) like the PrepareMethod thing, look here: http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/757357/how-to-compile-function-to-prevent-jit-spikes.html#answer-757892

It is not currently possible.
AOT is available with Android´s new runtime - ART (available starting with Android 4.4)
See this link for more info: http://www.infoq.com/news/2014/07/art-runtime
Unity support will probably be added in future releases.
